CCTV Installation in Kings Hill
Looking for CCTV installation in Kings Hill?
Kings Hill is unlike anywhere else in Kent. Built from scratch on a 650-acre former WWII RAF airfield, it is a planned garden village with streets named after Spitfires and apple varieties, one million square feet of Grade A offices housing global companies, and residential properties that are entirely post-1989 and consistently among the highest-value in the county. The security brief here reflects that: executive family homes, a large corporate business park, and a surrounding belt of villages, East Malling, West Malling, Larkfield, Leybourne and Aylesford, that carry their own very different character. ITD Secure fits Hikvision CCTV systems across the whole area, designed around each property's actual vulnerabilities.
Fully insured with public liability cover, 5.0 rating from our Google reviews.

A village built from nothing, with a security profile to match
Kings Hill is a genuinely unusual place to install security systems. The residential estate is entirely modern: every property was built after 1989, all the same era, all broadly similar in construction, with well-maintained streets, active residents and relatively low crime by Kent standards. The Wards of Kent area guide describes it as “a secure and safe place with a low crime rate,” and that is accurate as far as the estate itself goes.
What that framing misses is that the combination of high household incomes, large executive detached homes, a significant daily influx of business park employees and commuters, and the specific layout of a planned village, open green corridors, shared cycle paths and clear sightlines to the rear of some properties, creates its own risk profile. Organised residential burglary in Kent targets high-value homes with predictable occupant patterns, and Kings Hill residents are often in London, or in the office building three streets away, for long stretches of the day. The question is not whether crime happens here, it is whether the cameras cover the approach routes that matter.
The business park is a different brief entirely. With over 200 companies including Kimberly-Clark, Rolex and Balfour Beatty occupying one million square feet of Grade A office space, the commercial security needs range from single-building access point cameras to campus-wide perimeter and car park coverage, all with ICO-compliant configuration for footage retention and signage.

A real job in Kings Hill
A four-bedroom detached property on one of the larger Kings Hill residential streets had a doorbell camera on the front and nothing else. The owners both worked on the business park and were in the office by 8am most days. A neighbour had been broken into the previous spring, through the rear garden which backed onto one of the development’s shared green corridors, and the owners wanted to be confident their own rear boundary was covered. We surveyed the property, confirmed that the rear garden boundary and the side gate, which sat between their garage and the fence line and was not visible from the road or the front camera, were the two positions that mattered. A four-camera Hikvision system covered the front driveway, the side gate, the rear boundary and the back door. Hik-Connect was configured for motion alerts to both owners’ phones, so either can see what is happening on the rear garden path from the office three hundred yards away.

From our first contact with Kris Hill it was plain sailing. Initially contact was made to solve a problem related to our an old alarm system. Kris, promised to try and solve the issue - we were going away on a short break and, without his help, this would have left us unprotected. Within 24 hours Kris had established that our old system was obsolete and had completely installed a new one! All this on a Bank Holiday. Superb service!!Posted on Google Matt LeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Darren supplied and installed my burglar alarm system around 5 years ago. Kris has taken over the maintenance and servicing of the system since, and I couldn’t be happier. He’s always on hand to answer questions and even spent 40 minutes talking me through the new app, how to install it and get my system connected to it. Why Kings Hill properties need the right CCTV, not just any CCTV
The security picture across the Kings Hill area splits into three distinct briefs, and each needs a different starting point.
- Kings Hill residential estate. Modern executive homes with high household incomes and predictable London commuter or business park absence patterns. The estate is well maintained and relatively low crime, but organised residential burglary in Kent follows high-value property regardless of estate character, and the planned village layout, shared green spaces, cycle paths and rear access corridors, means some rear boundaries are more accessible than they look from the street. The side gate and rear boundary are the positions that matter most on these properties, not just the front driveway.
- Kings Hill business park. Over 200 companies in one million square feet of Grade A office space. Commercial CCTV here ranges from single-building access point coverage for smaller tenants to campus-wide car park, perimeter and reception area systems for larger occupiers. All configured for ICO compliance on footage retention, signage and user access from day one.
- Surrounding villages, West Malling, East Malling, Larkfield, Leybourne, Aylesford. West Malling has a characterful historic high street with period and listed buildings where camera placement needs care. East Malling carries orchard land and fruit research agricultural premises with outbuilding security needs. Larkfield and Leybourne are predominantly family semis and detached, with the usual driveway and rear garden access concerns. Aylesford and New Hythe sit on the Medway and carry both residential and industrial premises.
Award Winning Systems
We fit Hikvision, named Security Manufacturer of the Year, for build quality and low-light performance. The same systems protecting commercial offices on the business park go on the residential properties around them.
Full colour in near darkness
Hikvision ColorVu cameras hold full colour footage after dark. A face at a rear gate or a number plate on a driveway at night stays clearly readable, the kind of image Kent Police can act on.
Finding the blind spot before quoting
The most common failure on Kings Hill properties is the side gate and rear boundary, not the front. We find those positions at the survey, before the quote is written, not after the cameras are up.
Business park and commercial premises
We install on commercial sites across the Kings Hill business park and the wider area, covering access points, car parks and reception areas, configured for ICO compliance on footage retention and signage.
Watch from the office or anywhere else
Every system is configured for Hik-Connect remote viewing and motion alerts. For a Kings Hill resident in the office three hundred yards away or a commuter in London, a real-time alert to your phone changes what is possible.
Kent based, surveying in person
No national booking line, no unknown engineer. Kris surveys and installs. A survey or callout is a local visit, usually the same week.
Advice from someone who understands how break-ins happen
The reason our systems work is that they are designed around the offender, not the catalogue. That perspective comes from genuine experience.
Kris, ITD Secure
Founder and Lead Installer
Most CCTV installers can tell you how a system works. Kris can tell you how a burglar thinks. With over 30 years across the security and law enforcement industries, locally in Kent and nationally, the survey always begins with how an intruder reads the property, not how the owner does. On a Kings Hill detached that means finding the side gate and the rear green corridor access that the front camera does not see. On a West Malling period building it means the conservation area camera placement. On an East Malling orchard property it means the outbuilding and the approach from the lane. The camera in the right position is the one that changes the outcome.
Formal certification is not mandatory in security installation, so it is worth checking what an installer can actually show you. Ours is on the table: over 30 years in the field, fully insured with public liability cover, and a 5.0 rating across genuine Google reviews from homes and businesses across Kent.

How much does CCTV installation in Kings Hill cost?
Every quote follows a free survey. A Kings Hill executive detached, a West Malling listed period property and a business park office suite each require a different system. We give you a fixed written price before any work begins.
The main variables are:
- Camera count. Set by entry points and blind spots at the survey, not a standard package number.
- Camera type. Standard, 4K or Hikvision ColorVu for full colour in near darkness, chosen position by position.
- Recording and storage. NVR size determines footage retention. Commercial premises carry specific ICO retention requirements.
- Property type and cable runs. Modern Kings Hill properties are generally straightforward to cable. Period buildings in West Malling require more care. Large commercial sites with perimeter coverage and car parks require more time and materials.
- Remote access setup. Hik-Connect configuration, motion alert thresholds and user accounts set up and tested before we leave.

How a CCTV installation works with us
Every install follows the same process, because shortcuts are where weak systems come from:
- Free survey. We walk the property, find the real weak points and agree exactly what each camera needs to cover, including anything specific to a listed building or conservation area.
- System design. Camera count, positions, lens and low-light type specified for your property, with a fixed written quote.
- Clean installation. Tidy cable runs, weatherproof fittings and discreet placement. On historic or listed properties we work to minimise visible fixings and surface runs where possible.
- Configuration. Remote viewing via Hik-Connect, motion alerts, recording schedule and user accounts set up and tested with you, including ICO-compliant retention settings for business premises.
- Aftercare. We show you how to use the system, leave clear guidance, and are on the end of the phone if anything needs adjusting.
FAQs
Kings Hill is lower crime than many Kent towns, and the estate is well maintained and actively managed. But organised residential burglary in Kent targets high-value properties with predictable absence patterns, and Kings Hill has both. The combination of executive homes, London commuters and a large business park population creating a busy daytime but quiet evening profile is one that organised burglary groups recognise. The purpose of a properly specified CCTV system is to make your specific property a harder target than the next one along, and the most effective way to do that is to cover the side gate and rear boundary that most Kings Hill properties leave unmonitored while the front door camera creates a false sense of coverage.
Yes, and we work across the Kings Hill business park and the wider commercial area. Business premises range from single-tenant offices needing access point and car park coverage to larger occupiers with perimeter, reception and internal camera requirements. All commercial CCTV carries ICO obligations on footage retention, signage, user access and data handling, and we configure every system to meet those requirements from day one so you are compliant without having to retrofit it later.
Yes. The villages around Kings Hill each have their own security character. West Malling has a historic high street with listed and conservation area buildings where external fixings need care and, in some cases, consent from Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. East Malling carries orchard land and agricultural premises with outbuilding and equipment security needs. Larkfield and Leybourne are predominantly family semis and detached with standard residential concerns. We survey each property on its own terms rather than applying a generic approach across the area.
A typical Kings Hill detached executive home is well covered by four cameras: the front driveway, the side gate, the rear boundary and the back door. The side gate is the position most often missed on these properties, because it sits between the garage and the fence line and is not visible from either the road or the front camera. A larger property with a second side access or a detached garage needs one more. A business park office needs to start from the access point and car park entrance rather than the building, and the camera count follows from what needs to be covered. We establish the right number at the survey, not from a standard package.
